Hydrostatic Compact Guidance System

Matching the design envelope of a monorail guidance system

Features: The carriages in monorail guidance systems cannot accommodate vibration damping. In order to allow appropriate damping of vibrations from the adjacent construction, additional elements such as the passive damping carriage RUDS-D for the linear recirculating roller bearing and guideway assemblies RUE-E are required, which is positioned between the carriages. In order to have the greatest effect when bending vibrations occur, however, the damping element must be positioned at the point of largest deflection. A good knowledge of the vibration patterns is therefore required.

Design of gearbox bearing arrangements using BEARINX®

The analytical rolling bearing calculation program BEARINX® from the Schaeffler Group is the ideal tool for achieving faster and more precise design of bearing arrangements in complex gearboxes. With this program, it is possible to model complete gearboxes quickly and without errors, taking account of important influencing factors such as elasticities and deformations. This gives significant reductions in development time and cost. Calculation and simulation lead to better systems understanding, which means that critical points can be identified and eliminated at an early stage.

A new generation of yoke and stud type track rollers

A comprehensive assessment of the cause of failures in yoke and stud type track rollers in relation to the specific application has shown that only a very small proportion of failures are caused by rolling contact fatigue. The factors which are far more significant for premature failure are wear of the outer ring, inadequate lubrication and tilted running. New designs have been developed which optimize the running characteristics of yoke and stud type track rollers and give significantly longer operating life values.
